Brandon O’Dell introduced speakers Steve Shelters and Kyle Rahr of Raven and Rune.  They are contractors and cousins.

Steve purchased the former Vikings building on Washington Street, with the intention of creating a space for weddings and receptions. As the building formerly housed the Beer Snob, they decided to operate the bar. Following the Vikings theme, they named the bar for Rune, a Nordic God who had ravens, thus naming it Ravens and Rune.

Kyle, a long-time local bartender, runs the bar which he emphasized is open to all people, not just for certain groups, as a melting pot.

They are open from 3-10 p.m. Sunday-Monday, closed Tuesday and open 3-midnight Wednesday-Saturday. There’s a happy hour daily from 3-5 p.m. The menu includes smashburgers, 20 types of chicken wings, pizza and more. They have a full liquor license with 95 types of liquor, 40 types of beer and ten beers on tap. They have lots of bourbons. A second room is open for parties of up to 50 people.

The bar area holds 98 people with 28 permitted in the vestibule.

They have a Facebook page, lots of specials on certain nights and will be holding music bingo, trivia, decades nights and hopefully open jam sessions. They have many great ideas for Raven and Rune.

With that, Michelle thanked the men and closed the meeting with the Four-Way Test.
