Make Up Opportunities 
 
AM CLUB — Meets at 7:30 am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month on Zoom or in person at Northwest Arena.
 
FALCONER — Meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 AM at the Falconer Fire Department Exempt Hall located at 1 Coleson Drive Falconer NY, 14733.
 
WESTFIELD / MAYVILLE — Currently meeting 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 5 pm at the Westfield YWCA - 58 S. Portage St.
 
FREDONIA/DUNKIRK —
Meet Thursdays at noon at SUNY Fredonia University Village Conference Room, 2nd floor.
 
Committee meetings or social events can also be used as make-ups.
 
 
Rotarily Yours - October 5, 2026
 
Thank you to the Rotarians who helped during the meeting today. Chris Anderson, tech support; John Bauman, set-up; Emily Cama, greeter and Rotarily Yours; Wayne Rishell and Michael Dobbins, sign-in; Lisa Goodell, 50/50, Tory Irgang, Invocation; and Greg Jones, close out.
 
Today’s guests included Scott Johnson from the AM Rotary Club and David Johnson from the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
 
Volunteers still needed for the Fun Day on Saturday, October 10 at DoubleTree from 11 am-3:00 pm.
 
A social event will be scheduled during the last week of October at Southern Tier Brewery. More details to come soon!
 
Joni announced the October birthdays to the “Colorful Leaves.” Happy Birthday to Russ Diethrick and Misti Allen on Oct 9; Wayne Rishell on Oct 11; Phil Cala on Oct 29 and Diana Meckley on Oct 30.
 
She also emphasized that there is a special push to end polio during the month of October because Jonas Salk’s birthday is October 24 and he developed the first safe and effective injectable polio vaccine in 1955.
 
Lisa Goodell announced the 50/50 Winner – Marion Beckerink!
 
Max Eimiller served as the sergeant at arms and gave out many fines to fellow Rotarians.

  • Max (Youth exchange student) has 3 soccer games this week. Monday, Oct 5 at Jamestown (Strider Field) at 7:00; Wednesday, Oct. 7 – Home game at 4:30; Saturday, Oct 10 – Home game at 7:00 pm
  • Dr. Patail is speaking at Rotary on Monday, Oct 26 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Guests welcome and will have their lunch covered by WCA Foundation with reservation to Emily Cama (camaes@upmc.edu) by Thursday, Oct 22.
  • Becky Robbins will be retiring from the BPU in November. Congratulations, Becky!
  • Ruth Lundin discussed RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) and encouraged Rotarians to find interested youth because we have money budgeted to support participants.
  • Mark Johnson, the new president of Chautauqua Institution will be speaking on Oct. 19.
  • Scott Johnson from the AM Rotary announced their annual Club fundraiser which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4:00 pm at EBC in Bemus. $50 ticket covers a turkey dinner, snacks and desserts. There will also be raffles and silent auction.
  • Candy and Book donations are still needed for the Halloween event on October 24. Contact Patricia Graves to donate.
  • Caitlin read a letter from Kelly Martin on her experience as a Rotary Youth Exchange host parent. Cheri and the other Youth Exchange Committee members created a survey for club members to fill out to help determine if Youth Exchange is still a core value of the club. Please return the survey as soon as possible. (Paper version was handed out at the meeting and a digital version was emailed.)
