called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Vice-President Caitlin O’Reilly led the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner and Becky Robbins made it just in time to give the day’s invocation.
Visiting Rotarians and Guests included our Exchange Students Jan, Heath and Sophia Cama (who will be our 2026-27 out-bound student). Guest was soon to be our newest Rotarian Shannon Rinow (pronounced RENO).
Foundation Chairman Joni Blackman gave a nice overview of the Foundation’s field of interests spending in the past year and encouraged everyone to give SOMETHING each year no matter how large or small the amount and explained how the Paul Harris Fellow awards are given.
Joni then introduced our January birthday celebrants: Becky Robbins, Jan. 3; John Bauman, Jan. 25; and Katie Geise, Jan. 27. Becky won the free lunch.

Past President John Healy. Originally from Amherst, Shannon worked for the Cornell Cooperative Extension and is a Master Gardener and a BEE KEEPER. She is presently the Program Manger for the Workforce Development at 525 Falconer St., Jamestown and can be reached at

Shannon is an Organizational Member and hopes to soon add additional members from the Jamestown Community College family under her membership.

Ken Omeruo is taking care of Club Service and Ken thanked everyone for stepping up to help with preparations. He will have a signup sheet available next week.
Max Eimiller’s golf bar crawl will happen in February and is still soliciting places and talking it up with perspective teams.
Dewey Jones held the drawing for $43 in the 50/50 and it was won by Max Eimiller.
Doug Conroe, Sergeant at Arms fined Rhonda Johnson for leaving early; Doug put in a happy buck for his family good times over the holidays. Doug quizzed Rhonda’s table about a featured article in the Rotary Magazine about Corpus Cristi, TX. He encouraged everyone to read the article.
Doug asked Max’s table where is Tasmania – he answered South of Australia which satisfied the Sergeant.
Doug listed football winners, few but far between. Again in the Rotary magazine, the Rotary international president encouraged the importance of vocational mentorship for young people.
Happy Bucks included Ruth Lundin looking to put together a Rotary team to participate in the YWCA’s Coldest Night of the Year Walk on February 28. Please contact Ruth if you are interested in joining in the fun. She also paid for the Cleveland Brown winning the football game Sunday.
Dan Heitzerater paid to publicize next Thursday’s Chamber get together at UPTOWN KIX – contact Dan for more information and join in to support this young businessman who spoke to us last summer.
Max paid $20 (part of his 50/50 winnings) because his mom took his new nephew to Thailand for a three week visit to meet Max’s brother.
John Bauman paid for his children’s visit for the holidays.
Sue Jones paid for get well wishes for Lew Meckley (Diana’s husband) recuperating from knee replacement and for Deb Kathman who was having knee replacement surgery this morning.
Joni paid for your last chance to see the holiday exhibit at the Fenton as it will be dismantled on Friday.
AND Jason Sample paid for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ football win!
Cheri Krull then gave a lovely farewell tribute Heath Bounday who will be flying out of Buffalo on Friday heading toward his home in Tasmania. She reminded everyone to join the party for Heath at the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union in Lakewood, Tuesday evening at 6pm. Beef on Weck will be served and please bring a dish to pass.
