Sue Jones introduced our Rotary Scholarship winner from Chautauqua – Kathryn Henry –who is accompanied by Martine Dube’ from Montreal.

The Club was treated to a wonderful sampling of opera pieces.  Kathryn has quite a wonderful voice!

Kathryn Henry is a soprano opera singer who was a finalist in the 2015 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

In the fall of 2016, Ms. Henry began her Masters of Music as a Toulmin Scholar at the Julliard School under the tutelage of Chautauquan, Marlena Malas.  A native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, she has appeared in concerts with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.

The Jamestown Rotary Club has given scholarships to the Chautauqua Institution Music Department since 2002.  Through this year, we will have given 16 scholarships, totaling over $15,000.

It’s always a pleasure at Rotary for Chautauqua Month!
